At Nodo, we’re all about solutions. Thrall ISD came to us frustrated with their current visitor screening software. The software worked, but they were experiencing so many issues.

Every time you updated the machine, it invalidated the SSL certificates that were being used by their existing solution. So, they’d have to reinstall things completely. Nodo is an independent cloud-based system and is completely stand alone. we use SSL certificates, but our website itself authenticates, meaning you’ll never encounter those kinds of issues. Update away with peace of mind knowing our software will continue to shine!

The system also used a scanner, that worked good when the system was brand new. But when new driver’s licenses came out their scanners were unable to read the licenses, so they were needed to buy newer equipment in order to continue scanning. Nodo use a regular barcode scanner. There are some slight differences between barcode scanners, but we don’t use anything proprietary, which means at the click of a button you’ll be scanning licenses in no time! Because they are not proprietary, barcode readers are inexpensive and easy to use, so if you ever have to swap it out for any reason, you should be back up and running in a few minutes. There is no special software to install, your machine should automatically recognize and install the reader.

There was a way for existing users to sign in, but that required a kiosk, which needed additional software and that forced them to have to buy another license. Our system keeps tabs on users and when they enter a profile gets created. Through our dashboard, you’ll be able to search for a sign in existing users quickly and easily. Did someone come in for lunch and spill something on their badge? No problem, we’ve got you covered there too! The dashboard gives you the option to reprint a badge of any current visitor who is on campus.

The company was big, which also mean’t the tech support department was either hit or miss. Sometimes you got someone who knew how to address your issue. Other times they were put on hold and had to wait forever. At Nodo, we’re a very simple operation by design. Want to get in touch? Not a problem.
